Nomination for National Award for Civic Engagement

14.06.2012

With its nomination, Medienhaus Frankfurt receives special recognition for its sustained support of Bürgerinstitut e.V., one of Frankfurt's oldest not-for-profit institutions with a focus on volunteer work as well as services for senior citizens.

For more than ten years now, Medienhaus Frankfurt has provided pro bono consulting and agency services for the Buergerinstitut’s quarterly magazine, “Mach mit” ("Join us"), and a quarterly published calender of events. “From the very beginning we were focused on delivering high quality design, flawless content, and images that speak their own language”, says Mathias Weise, Managing Partner of Medienhaus Frankfurt. “We are very happy that the money they save on our fees, can be used completely for their volunteer purposes.”

The National Prize for Civic Engagement was first awarded in 2009 and this year’s focus is on individuals and organisations with outstanding engagement in their local region. The Award, for which one cannot apply but needs to be recommended, increases the visibility of volunteer work in Germany and fosters the appreciation of citizen engagement.

A jury of experts will meet in September for the selection of winners as well as decide on projects eligible for the public prize. Winners of the public prize are selected by an online voting in October. The official awards ceremony will take place in Berlin in December 2012.
